Creado por MAAP<\/div><\/div>\n<p>En MAAP, hemos enfatizado el poder de los sat\u00e9lites con sensores \u00f3pticos (como Landsat, Planet, DigitalGlobe), los cuales tambi\u00e9n tienen una limitaci\u00f3n clave: la informaci\u00f3n sobre los bosques puede estar bloqueada por la presencia de <strong>nubes<\/strong>, un problema com\u00fan en un lugar lluvioso como la Amazon\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, existe otra herramienta poderosa con una capacidad \u00fanica: los sat\u00e9lites con sensores de <strong>radar<\/strong>, los cuales emiten su propia energ\u00eda que puede atravesar las nubes (ver Imagen).<\/p>\n<p>Desde el 2014, la Agencia Espacial Europea proporciona im\u00e1genes gratuitas de sus dos sat\u00e9lites de radar, <strong>Sentinel-1<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>En la Amazon\u00eda peruana, por ejemplo, Sentinel-1 obtiene im\u00e1genes cada 12 d\u00edas con una resoluci\u00f3n de 20 metros aproximadamente.<\/p>\n<p><u>En el presente MAAP<\/u>, mostramos el poder de radar en el\u00a0<strong>monitoreo de la deforestaci\u00f3n<\/strong> en tiempo casi real.\u00a0Nos enfocamos en\u00a0la deforestaci\u00f3n por miner\u00eda aur\u00edfera, en la Amazon\u00eda peruana sur (regi\u00f3n Madre de Dios).<\/p>\n<p>Analizando im\u00e1genes de radar, documentamos la deforestaci\u00f3n de\u00a0<b>1.32 mil hect\u00e1reas <\/b>(1.800 campos de f\u00fatbol)<b>\u00a0<\/b>por miner\u00eda aur\u00edfera<b>\u00a0<\/b>durante el a\u00f1o pasado.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Im\u00e1genes de Radar (Sentinel-1)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>La <strong>Imagen 79a<\/strong> es un GIF de im\u00e1genes de radar Sentinel-1, mostrando la deforestaci\u00f3n por la actividad minera entre enero del 2017 y febrero del 2018, en nuestra zona de inter\u00e9s que incluye 4 zonas de enfoque: <strong>A.<\/strong> La Pampa (sector Balata), <strong>B.<\/strong> Tierra Roja, <strong>C.<\/strong> Alto Malinowski, <strong>D.<\/strong> Reserva Nacional Tambopata.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_6975\" class=\"thumbnail aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/GIF-take2.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6975 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/GIF-take2.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"932\" height=\"641\" \/><\/a><div class=\"caption\">Imagen 79a. Datos: ESA, SERNANP<\/div><\/div>\n<p>En las im\u00e1genes de radar, las tierras deforestadas aparecen en tonos de color azul p\u00farpura, mientras que los bosques aparecen en tonos de verde amarillo.<\/p>\n<p>Basado en ello, n\u00f3tese la r\u00e1pida expansi\u00f3n de la miner\u00eda en el sector de <strong>La Pampa<\/strong>, as\u00ed como en la zona del <strong>Alto Malinowski<\/strong>. Por el contrario, se puede observar que la expansi\u00f3n de la miner\u00eda ilegal se detuvo al interior de la <strong>Reserva Nacional Tambopata<\/strong> a partir de junio del 2017.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Datos\u00a0de Deforestaci\u00f3n<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>La <strong>Imagen 79b<\/strong> indica las zonas de deforestaci\u00f3n por miner\u00eda aur\u00edfera m\u00e1s recientes detectadas por radar. Estimamos la deforestaci\u00f3n de <strong>1.32 mil hect\u00e1reas<\/strong>\u00a0(1.800 campos de f\u00fatbol) entre enero del 2017 y febrero del 2018 (indicado por los colores amarillo y rojo), en nuestra zona de inter\u00e9s.
