Fuentes: SERNANP, MAAP<\/div><\/div>\n<p>En esta\u00a0<strong>serie tem\u00e1tica<\/strong>\u00a0describimos los nuevos proyectos m\u00e1s resaltantes que amenazan grandes extensiones de bosque primario amaz\u00f3nico.<\/p>\n<p>En el primer reporte (<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/2018\/jeberos\/\">MAAP #84<\/a><\/strong>) se describi\u00f3 la construcci\u00f3n de la nueva\u00a0<strong>carretera Yurimaguas \u2013 Jeberos<\/strong>\u00a0en la\u00a0regi\u00f3n Loreto (ver Mapa Base),\u00a0la\u00a0cual\u00a0atraviesa bosque primario, Bosque de Producci\u00f3n Permanente y un Sitio Prioritario para la Conservaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>El presente reporte describe la deforestaci\u00f3n asociada a la <strong>expansi\u00f3n agr\u00edcola<\/strong> en la\u00a0Amazon\u00eda peruana norte (regiones Ucayali, Loreto y\u00a0<span lang=\"ES-EC\">San Mart\u00edn).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Estos tres casos, los cuales hemos denominado \u00ab<strong>Imir\u00eda<\/strong>,\u00bb \u00ab<strong>Orellana<\/strong>\u00bb y \u00ab<span lang=\"ES-EC\"><strong>San Mart\u00edn<\/strong>\u00ab<\/span> respectivamente (ver Mapa Base), son importantes porque presentan las caracter\u00edsticas de actividades agrarias de <strong>gran escala\u00a0<\/strong>y, por lo tanto, pueden resultar en\u00a0deforestaci\u00f3n de gran escala.<\/p>\n<p>En estos casos, las <strong>alertas tempranas<\/strong> (GeoBosques\/MINAM) detectaron\u00a0primero la deforestaci\u00f3n\u00a0en el 2017 (ver <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/2017\/patrones-preocupantes\/\">MAAP #69<\/a>) y\u00a0posteriormente su expansi\u00f3n en el 2018, alcanzando la suma<strong>\u00a01.5 mil hect\u00e1reas\u00a0<\/strong>(casi dos mil campos de f\u00fatbol).<\/p>\n<p>A continuaci\u00f3n mostramos\u00a0<strong>im\u00e1genes satelitales<\/strong>\u00a0de\u00a0la reciente deforestaci\u00f3n asociada a la expansi\u00f3n agr\u00edcola en estos tres casos. En todas, el amarillo indica\u00a0la deforestaci\u00f3n del 2016-17, mientras que el <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">rojo<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0indica\u00a0la deforestaci\u00f3n\u00a0m\u00e1s reciente del <strong>2018<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Caso Imir\u00eda (Ucayali)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Al norte del \u00c1rea de Conservaci\u00f3n Regional <strong>Imir\u00eda<\/strong>\u00a0hemos documentado la deforestaci\u00f3n de <strong>353 hect\u00e1reas\u00a0<\/strong>entre junio de 2017 (panel izquierdo) y julio de 2018 (panel derecho). Se puede observar la deforestaci\u00f3n en parcelas\u00a0rectangulares alrededor de una nueva red de v\u00edas de acceso.\u00a0Los <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">c\u00edrculos rojos<\/span><\/strong> indican las\u00a0nuevas\u00a0\u00e1reas\u00a0deforestadas en el 2018. En el 2018, la deforestaci\u00f3n\u00a0lleg\u00f3 al l\u00edmite del \u00c1rea de Conservaci\u00f3n Regional Imir\u00eda.\u00a0En cuanto a la causa de la deforestaci\u00f3n, un art\u00edculo reciente de\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.servindi.org\/actualidad-noticias\/05\/09\/2017\/trafico-de-tierras-detras-de-la-muerte-de-seis-agricultores-shipibos\">Servindi\u00a0<\/a>informa que una Comunidad Nativa de la zona (Ceylan en Masisea) ha \u00abdenunciado la expansi\u00f3n del <strong>arroz<\/strong> bajo riego, sembrado y cosechado con m\u00e1quinas.\u00bb<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7575\" class=\"thumbnail aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Imiria_2a_jun17_jul18.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-7575 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Imiria_2a_jun17_jul18-930x550.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"930\" height=\"550\" \/><\/a><div class=\"caption\">Caso Imir\u00eda. Fuentes: Planet, SERNANP, MAAP<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Caso Orellana (Loreto)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>En la regi\u00f3n Loreto, cerca de la localidad\u00a0Orellana, hemos documentado la deforestaci\u00f3n de <strong>365 hect\u00e1reas\u00a0<\/strong>entre diciembre de 2016 (panel izquierdo) y julio de 2018 (panel derecho). Fuentes: Planet, MAAP<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Caso San\u00a0Mart\u00edn<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span lang=\"ES-EC\">En el noreste de San Mart\u00edn hemos documentado la deforestaci\u00f3n reciente de\u00a0<strong>740 hect\u00e1reas<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"ES-EC\">entre diciembre del 2016 (panel izquierdo) y agosto del 2018 (panel derecho). La mayor\u00eda de la\u00a0deforestaci\u00f3n es para una nueva plantaci\u00f3n de\u00a0<strong>palma aceitera<\/strong>.
