Datos: Hansen\/UMD\/Google\/USGS\/NASA<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Continuamos con nuestro enfoque en el noroeste de la <strong>Amazon\u00eda colombiana,* <\/strong>el\u00a0<strong>hotspot de deforestaci\u00f3n<\/strong>\u00a0m\u00e1s intenso de toda la Amazon\u00eda occidental (ver <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/2019\/amazonia-occidental-2018\/\">MAAP #100<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>En el <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">presente reporte<\/span>, realizamos un nuevo an\u00e1lisis de la deforestaci\u00f3n desde el 2015 hasta julio del 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Encontramos que el gran incremento de la deforestaci\u00f3n se inici\u00f3 en el 2016. La Amazon\u00eda colombiana perdi\u00f3 <strong>478\u00a0mil hect\u00e1reas<\/strong> de bosque durante el <strong>2016-18<\/strong>, de las cuales el 73% (<strong>348 mil ha<\/strong>) eran <strong>bosques primarios<\/strong>\u00a0(ver <strong>Cuadro 1<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>El principal\u00a0<strong>motor (driver)<\/strong>\u00a0de la deforestaci\u00f3n en la regi\u00f3n es la conversi\u00f3n a pastos para el acaparamiento de tierras y la ganader\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">A continuaci\u00f3n<\/span>, presentamos una actualizaci\u00f3n en tiempo real del <strong>2019,<\/strong> en base a las alertas tempranas de la Universidad de Maryland\/Global Forest Watch (GLAD alerts), actualizado hasta el 25 de julio del 2019.<\/p>\n<p>*MAAP en Colombia representa una colaboraci\u00f3n entre <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazonconservation.org\/\">Amazon Conservation<\/a> y su socia colombiana, <a href=\"https:\/\/fcds.org.co\/\">Fundaci\u00f3n para la Conservaci\u00f3n y el Desarrollo Sostenible (FCDS)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div><\/h3>\n<div id=\"attachment_8349\" class=\"thumbnail alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/maaproject.org-maap-105-la-deforestacion-impacta-4-areas-protegidas-en-la-amazonia-colombiana-BM01-HSColAmz-July2019-250dpi-v2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8349\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/maaproject.org-maap-105-la-deforestacion-impacta-4-areas-protegidas-en-la-amazonia-colombiana-BM01-HSColAmz-July2019-250dpi-v2-742x580.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"675\" height=\"528\" \/><\/a><div class=\"caption\">Mapa Base. Datos: UMD\/GLAD, RUNAP, RAISG<\/div><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Deforestaci\u00f3n <\/strong><strong>2019<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Estas alertas indican la p\u00e9rdida adicional de <strong>60.6<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>mil hect\u00e1reas <\/strong>en los primeros 7 meses del <strong>2019<\/strong> (hasta julio), de las cuales el 75% (<strong>45.7 mil ha<\/strong>) era\u00a0<strong>bosque primario<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>El\u00a0<strong>Mapa Base<\/strong> muestra que la deforestaci\u00f3n del 2019 impacta principalmente <strong>4 <\/strong><strong>\u00e1reas protegidas* <\/strong>en el noroeste de la <strong>Amazon\u00eda colombiana: <\/strong>los Parques Nacionales <strong>Tinigua,<\/strong> Serran\u00eda de <strong>Chiribiquete<\/strong>,\u00a0y Sierra de la <strong>Macarena<\/strong>, y la Reserva Nacional <strong>Nukak<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">A continuaci\u00f3n<\/span>, detallamos la reciente deforestaci\u00f3n en estas cuatro \u00e1reas protegidas de la Amazon\u00eda colombiana, incluyendo una serie de <strong>im\u00e1genes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>*Hay otras \u00e1reas protegidas con deforestaci\u00f3n reciente (como Parques Nacionales Picachos y La Paya), sin embargo en este reporte nos centramos solo en las cuatro \u00e1reas con mayor deforestaci\u00f3n durante el 2019.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_8350\" class=\"thumbnail alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/maaproject.org-maap-105-la-deforestacion-impacta-4-areas-protegidas-en-la-amazonia-colombiana-BM02-ColAmz-04ProtectedAreas-July2019-250dpi.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8350\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/maaproject.org-maap-105-la-deforestacion-impacta-4-areas-protegidas-en-la-amazonia-colombiana-BM02-ColAmz-04ProtectedAreas-July2019-250dpi-742x580.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"675\" height=\"528\" \/><\/a><div class=\"caption\">Mapa de Deforestaci\u00f3n en \u00c1reas Protegidas. Datos: UMD\/GLAD, Hansen\/UMD\/Google\/USGS\/NASA, RUNAP, RAISG<\/div><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Deforestaci\u00f3n en <\/strong><strong>\u00c1reas Protegidas<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Realizamos un\u00a0<strong>an\u00e1lisis de deforestaci\u00f3n <\/strong>al interior de las 4 \u00e1reas protegidas (Chiribiquete, Tinigua, Macarena, Nukak), generando los siguientes resultados clave:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Durante el 2016-18, se deforestaron <strong>29 mil<\/strong> <strong>hect\u00e1reas <\/strong>en las 4 \u00e1reas protegidas, de las cuales el 86% (25 mil ha) era bosque primario (25 mil ha).<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>A finales julio del <strong>2019<\/strong>, se deforestaron <strong>4.3 mil hectareas<\/strong>, de las cuales el 87% era bosque primario (3.7 mil ha). Tres de las \u00e1reas protegidas (<strong>Tinigua<\/strong>, <strong>Chiribiquete<\/strong>, y <strong>Macarena<\/strong>) han perdido m\u00e1s de mil hect\u00e1reas cada una.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Parque Nacional<\/strong> <strong>Tinigua<\/strong>\u00a0es el \u00e1rea protegida m\u00e1s impactada con la deforestaci\u00f3n de <strong>16 mil hect\u00e1reas<\/strong> durante el 2017-19 (de las cuales el 96% era bosque primario). Note el gran incremento de la deforestaci\u00f3n en el 2018.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Parque Nacional<\/strong> <strong>Chiribiquete <\/strong>ha perdido <strong>2.6 mil<\/strong> <strong>hect\u00e1reas <\/strong>desde su expansi\u00f3n en julio del 2018 (de las cuales el 96% era bosque primario).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Zoom A. Los datos se basan en im\u00e1genes Landsat de 30 m de resoluci\u00f3n. Para el 2019, analizamos las alertas GLAD (Hansen et al 2016). Para el plazo 2017-18, analizamos los datos anuales (Hansen et al 2013).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Las cifras estimadas como\u00a0<b>p\u00e9rdida de bosque total<\/b>\u00a0son el resultado de la multiplicaci\u00f3n del \u00e1rea de los datos anuales de \u201cp\u00e9rdida de cobertura forestal\u201d (<em>forest cover loss<\/em>) por el porcentaje de densidad de \u201ccobertura arb\u00f3rea\u201d (<em>tree cover<\/em>) del a\u00f1o 2000 (valores &gt; 30%). La incorporaci\u00f3n de los datos de cobertura arb\u00f3rea 2000 permite mirar el \u00e1rea precisa de cada p\u00edxel, mejorando los resultados y haci\u00e9ndolos m\u00e1s precisos.<\/p>\n<p>Definen \u00ab<strong>bosques primarios<\/strong>\u00bb como una cubierta de bosque tropical h\u00famedo natural maduro que no ha sido completamente talada y regenerada en la historia reciente (30-50 a\u00f1os). <span lang=\"ES-PE\">Para estimar las cifras de la p\u00e9rdida de bosque primario, se intersectaron los datos de \u201cbosque primario h\u00famedo tropical\u201d (<em>primary humid tropical forests<\/em>) del a\u00f1o 2001 (Turubanova et al 2018), con los datos de \u201cp\u00e9rdida de cobertura forestal\u201d (<em>forest cover loss<\/em>). Para m\u00e1s detalles sobre esta parte de la metodolog\u00eda, revisar el\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.globalforestwatch.org\/data-and-research\/blog-tecnico-explicacion-de-la-actualizacion-de-datos-de-2018-de-global-forest-watch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/blog.globalforestwatch.org\/data-and-research\/blog-tecnico-explicacion-de-la-actualizacion-de-datos-de-2018-de-global-forest-watch&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1563455171927000&amp;usg=AFQjCNHpD35uZeYnZWGqMTuOSkGgWKOXvQ\"><span lang=\"ES-PE\">Blog T\u00e9cnico<\/span><\/a><span lang=\"ES-PE\">\u00a0de Global Forest Watch (Goldman and Weisse, 2019).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Todos los datos fueron procesados bajo el sistema de coordenadas geogr\u00e1fico D\u00e1tum WGS 1984. Para calcular las \u00e1reas en unidades m\u00e9tricas se utiliz\u00f3 la proyecci\u00f3n UTM (<em>Universal Transversal Mercator<\/em>), zona 18 Norte.<\/p>\n<p>Para identificar los\u00a0<b>hotspots de deforestaci\u00f3n<\/b>\u00a0realizamos una estimaci\u00f3n de densidad kernel, un an\u00e1lisis que calcula la magnitud por unidad de \u00e1rea de un fen\u00f3meno particular, en este caso la p\u00e9rdida de cobertura forestal. Se utiliz\u00f3 la herramienta Densidad Kernel del software ArcGis y se consider\u00f3 los siguientes par\u00e1metros:<\/p>\n<p>Radio de b\u00fasqueda: 15000 unidades de estrato (metros).<br \/>\nFunci\u00f3n de Densidad de Kernel: kernel de cuarto grado.<br \/>\nTama\u00f1o de celda en el mapa: 200 x 200 metros (4 hect\u00e1reas).<br \/>\nTodo lo dem\u00e1s se mantuvo seg\u00fan la configuraci\u00f3n predeterminada.<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"ES-PE\">Para el Mapa Base, usamos los siguientes porcentajes de concentraci\u00f3n: Medio: 10%-25%; Alto: 25%-50%; Muy Alto: &gt;50%.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Referencias<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Hansen, M.
