Datos: Maxar.<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Los<strong> incendios<\/strong> ardiendo en la <strong>Amazon\u00eda<\/strong>, particularmente en <strong>Brasil <\/strong>y <strong>Bolivia<\/strong>, se han vuelto titulares de prensa y tema viral en las redes sociales.<\/p>\n<p>A\u00fan es poca la informaci\u00f3n que existe sobre el <strong>impacto<\/strong> en los bosques de la Amazon\u00eda, como muchos de los incendios se originaron en o cerca tierras agr\u00edcolas.<\/p>\n<p>En el presente reporte, profundizamos la discusi\u00f3n sobre los fuegos, presentando el primer Mapa Base de los \u00ab<b>Hotspots de Fuego<\/b>\u00bb actuales en tres pa\u00edses (Bolivia, Brasil y Per\u00fa). Tambi\u00e9n presentamos una serie de <b>im\u00e1genes satelitales<\/b> que muestran c\u00f3mo se ven los incendios en cada hotspot y c\u00f3mo est\u00e1n <b>impactando los bosques<\/b> de la Amazon\u00eda. Nuestro enfoque es tiempo real,\u00a0agosto del 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Nuestros\u00a0<strong>hallazgos clave<\/strong>\u00a0incluyen:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>S\u00ed, hay<strong> incendios quemando el bosque Amaz\u00f3nico\u00a0<\/strong>en <strong>Bolivia<\/strong>, <strong>Brasil <\/strong>y <strong>Per\u00fa<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">,<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Los incendios en <strong>Bolivia<\/strong> est\u00e1n concentrados en los bosques secos de Chiquitano, en la Amazon\u00eda sur.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">,<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Los incendios en <strong>Brasil<\/strong> son mucho m\u00e1s dispersos y extendidos, a menudo asociados con tierras agr\u00edcolas. Por ende, advertimos no usar \u00fanicamente datos de detecci\u00f3n de incendios como medida de impacto, dado que muchos est\u00e1n limpiando campos a trav\u00e9s del roza y quema. No obstante, muchos de los fuegos est\u00e1n en el <strong>l\u00edmite del bosque y la agricultura,<\/strong> y pueden ser plantaciones en expansi\u00f3n o fuegos escap\u00e1ndose hacia el bosque.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Aunque no tan severo, tambi\u00e9n se ha detectado presencia de quema de bosques al <strong>sur de Per\u00fa,<\/strong> en un \u00e1rea que se ha convertido en un hotspot de deforestaci\u00f3n a lo largo de la carretera interoce\u00e1nica.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Dada la naturaleza de los incendios de Bolivia y Brasil, el estimado total del \u00e1rea quemada a\u00fan es dif\u00edcil de determinar. Continuaremos monitoreando e informando sobre la situaci\u00f3n en los pr\u00f3ximos d\u00edas.<\/p>\n<h3><div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div><br \/>\n<strong>Mapa Base<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>El Mapa Base muestra <strong>\u201chostpots de fuego\u201d<\/strong> sobre las regiones amaz\u00f3nicas de Bolivia, Brasil y Per\u00fa en agosto del 2019. Los datos son de un sat\u00e9lite de la NASA que detecta incendios a una resoluci\u00f3n de 375 metros. Datos: VIIRS\/NASA.<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Zoom A: Amazon\u00eda Boliviana Sur<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Los incendios est\u00e1n concentrados en el seco Chiquitano del sur de Bolivia, parte del bosque tropical seco m\u00e1s grande del mundo. Coinciden con zonas destinadas en las \u00faltimas d\u00e9cadas a la expansi\u00f3n de la ganader\u00eda(1-3) , sugiriendo pr\u00e1cticas de uso de fuego pudieron originar los incendios forestales. El Servicio Nacional de Meteorolog\u00eda e Hidrolog\u00eda (<a href=\"http:\/\/senamhi.gob.bo\">SENAMHI<\/a>) de Bolivia emiti\u00f3 en julio y agosto avisos de alertas con pron\u00f3sticos de vientos fuertes, que pudieron favorecer la expansi\u00f3n de fuegos. Por otra parte, usualmente agosto es el mes m\u00e1s seco del a\u00f1o en la zona.
