Datos: Planet; Analysis: MAAP.<\/div><\/div>\n<p>El a\u00f1o pasado, los <strong>incendios de la Amazon\u00eda brasile\u00f1a<\/strong> encabezaron los titulares internacionales.<\/p>\n<p>Al analizar un archivo de im\u00e1genes satelitales (de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planet.com\/products\/explorer\/\">Planet Explorer<\/a>), descubrimos que muchos de los incendios estaban <strong>quemando \u00e1reas recientemente deforestadas<\/strong> y que no se trataba de incendios forestales descontrolados (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/2019\/satelites_fuegos_brasil\/\">MAAP #113<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Por ejemplo, documentamos que extensos incendios que cubrieron 298,000 hect\u00e1reas quemaron \u00e1reas que fueron deforestadas ese mismo a\u00f1o (<strong>2019<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>De este modo, podemos pronosticar d\u00f3nde es probable que se den los <strong>incendios del 2020<\/strong>, bas\u00e1ndonos en identificar las \u00e1reas m\u00e1s recientemente deforestadas de este a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<p>A continuaci\u00f3n, ilustramos este proceso.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Pronosticando los incendios del 2020<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>En el <strong>Mapa Base<\/strong>, los puntos amarillos indican los nuevos eventos de deforestaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s extensos, y d\u00f3nde pronosticamos la probable ubicaci\u00f3n de los <strong>incendios del 2020<\/strong>.
