La Reserva, ubicada en la regi\u00f3n Madre de Dios, es\u00a0un \u00e1rea natural protegida importante que es gestionada conjuntamente con las comunidades ind\u00edgenas y\u00a0el SERNANP-Per\u00fa (Servicio Nacional de \u00c1reas Naturales Protegidas por el Estado).\u00a0En las semanas posteriores a\u00a0nuestra publicaci\u00f3n, el SERNANP junto con los representantes del ECA Amarakaeri, realizaron acciones de patrullaje y vigilancia en la zona para <strong>detener el avance de la deforestaci\u00f3n<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>En el presente MAAP, presentamos<strong>\u00a0im\u00e1genes satelitales\u00a0de alta resoluci\u00f3n<\/strong> que muestran la potencial\u00a0<strong>recuperaci\u00f3n de vegetaci\u00f3n<\/strong>\u00a0en la zona afectada por la actividad minera. Este hallazgo representa una posible buena noticia sobre la resiliencia de la Amazon\u00eda cuando la actividad destructiva es detenida en una etapa temprana. No obstante,\u00a0existen muchas interrogantes e inquietudes sobre esta posible\u00a0recuperaci\u00f3n. Datos: Digital Globe (Nextview)<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Informaci\u00f3n Adicional<\/strong><\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>Seg\u00fan especialistas en el tema, la regeneraci\u00f3n natural era de esperarse, considerando la alta diversidad biol\u00f3gica, la\u00a0presencia de bosque primario cercano y la relativamente poca superficie afectada. Sin embargo, es importante considerar que la regeneraci\u00f3n ha ocurrido sobre todo en los mont\u00edculos de tierra superficial dejados por la actividad minera. La regeneraci\u00f3n a\u00fan no se presenta en las \u201ccanchas de grava\u201d y relaves, donde la alteraci\u00f3n del suelo fue mucho mayor.\u00a0Adem\u00e1s, es muy posible que esta vegetaci\u00f3n nueva pueda verse afectada por los residuos de mercurio y otras sustancias empleadas durante la extracci\u00f3n de oro.<\/p>\n<p>As\u00ed tambi\u00e9n, debe considerarse que todav\u00eda hace falta conocer m\u00e1s sobre las caracter\u00edsticas de la regeneraci\u00f3n para estimar el verdadero potencial de restauraci\u00f3n del \u00e1rea afectada, y si es que \u00e9sta\u00a0requiere de alguna intervenci\u00f3n para acelerar o completar el proceso. Las condiciones de degradaci\u00f3n que deja la actividad minera act\u00faan como un \u201cfiltro\u201d que impide la regeneraci\u00f3n de muchas especies y permite el establecimiento de s\u00f3lo unas cuantas especies oportunistas*, lo cual no permitir\u00eda la recuperaci\u00f3n del ecosistema en su totalidad.<\/p>\n<p>*Oportunistas son aquellas especies vegetales de r\u00e1pido crecimiento que aprovechan las perturbaciones ambientales para colonizar r\u00e1pidamente nuevos espacios, y en algunos casos, impiden el establecimiento de la vegetaci\u00f3n original.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Declaraci\u00f3n SERNANP<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>La Jefatura de la Reserva Comunal Amarakaeri \u00a0ha manifestado que el retiro de los mineros informales presentes en la zona fue un trabajo en conjunto entre el SERNANP y el ECA-Amarakaeri a trav\u00e9s del fortalecimiento de la vigilancia comunal. Esas acciones fueron posibles gracias al soporte de un fondo fideicomiso del SERNANP que permiti\u00f3 la contrataci\u00f3n de un mayor n\u00famero de guardaparques, as\u00ed como el incremento de la frecuencia de patrullajes e intervenciones con el apoyo de los vigilantes comunales para desarrollar acciones de control y vigilancia, en la zona de amortiguamiento de tres \u00e1reas protegidas de Madre de Dios (Resera Nacional Tambopata, Parque Nacional Bahuaja Sonene y la Reserva Comunal Amarakaeri).<\/p>\n<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3><strong>Cita<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Novoa S, Finer M, Rom\u00e1n F\u00a0(2016)\u00a0Regeneraci\u00f3n de Vegetaci\u00f3n en Zona Afectada por Miner\u00eda en la Reserva Comunal Amarakaeri.
