Anteriormente, hemos presentado una <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/2016\/alertas2\/\">serie de art\u00edculos<\/a> mostrando el poder de las alertas GLAD para detectar la deforestaci\u00f3n en tiempo casi real. En esta oportunidad, presentamos informaci\u00f3n de las <strong>alertas de fuegos <\/strong>basadas en el uso del sensor VIIRS de resoluci\u00f3n media (375 metros) que detecta focos de calor, es decir, indican aquellas \u00e1reas donde la temperatura tiene un comportamiento an\u00f3malo, por encima de lo normal.<\/p>\n<p>En el presente MAAP, por primera vez\u00a0se comparan estos dos tipos de alerta, y encontramos que existe una <strong>correlaci\u00f3n entre la presencia de fuegos y la p\u00e9rdida de bosque<\/strong>, a lo largo de un tramo de la carretera Interoce\u00e1nica, en Madre de Dios. La <strong>Imagen 47a<\/strong> muestra la ocurrencia de los focos de calor (panel izquierdo) en relaci\u00f3n con las alertas de deforestaci\u00f3n (panel derecho) del 2016, a lo largo de la Interoce\u00e1nica, entre las localidades de Iberia e I\u00f1apari. Los <strong>Cuadros A-E<\/strong> indican las \u00e1reas mostradas en los zooms abajo,\u00a0en donde aproximadamente <strong>600 hect\u00e1reas<\/strong> fueron afectados por fuegos en el 2016.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5166\" class=\"thumbnail aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/MAAP_Focos_Calor_MdD_1_m_v5.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5166 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/MAAP_Focos_Calor_MdD_1_m_v5.jpg\" alt=\"Imagen 48a. Datos: UMD\/GLAD, Hansen\/UMD\/Google\/USGS\/NASA, USGS\/NASA, INPE<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Zooms A &#8211; E<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Las <strong>Im\u00e1genes 47b-f<\/strong> muestran el cambio en la cobertura boscosa entre julio (panel izquierdo) y septiembre (panel derecho) del 2016, en las \u00e1reas de los Cuadros A-E. Los <strong>c\u00edrculos amarillos<\/strong> indican las \u00e1reas m\u00e1s afectadas del bosque y los <strong>puntos marrones<\/strong> indican los focos de calor. Se puede observar la quema y\/o desecaci\u00f3n de bosque pr\u00f3ximas a \u00e1reas de pasto y otros usos agr\u00edcolas donde se realizaron quemas durante el 2016. Fuentes: Planet, INPE<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Confirmaci\u00f3n de la Asociaci\u00f3n entre Quemas y Deforestaci\u00f3n<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>La <strong>Imagen 47g<\/strong> muestra un ejemplo de la relaci\u00f3n que existe entre las alertas de deforestaci\u00f3n y los incendios. El panel izquierdo muestra los focos de calor (puntos marrones) y tambi\u00e9n las \u00e1reas confirmadas donde se iniciaron los fuegos (color morado). La determinaci\u00f3n de estas \u00faltimas, se realiz\u00f3 a trav\u00e9s del \u00edndice NBR (Normalized Burn Ratio), el que permite distinguir las \u00e1reas quemadas de las \u00e1reas de vegetaci\u00f3n (n\u00f3tese el humo producto de una de las quemas).
