Datos: UMD\/GLAD, ACA\/MAAP.<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Presentamos una primera mirada a los principales <strong>hotspots de deforestaci\u00f3n del 2021<\/strong> en los nueve pa\u00edses de la Amazon\u00eda (al 18 de septiembre).*<\/p>\n<p>El <strong>Mapa Base<\/strong> ilustra varios <strong>hallazgos clave<\/strong> en lo que va del 2021:<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">p<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Estimamos la p\u00e9rdida de m\u00e1s de <strong>860.000 hect\u00e1reas<\/strong> de bosque primario en los nueve pa\u00edses de la Amazon\u00eda.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">k<\/span><\/li>\n<li>La deforestaci\u00f3n ha estado concentrada en tres pa\u00edses: Brasil (79%), Per\u00fa (7%) y Colombia (6%).<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">l<\/span><\/li>\n<li>La mayor\u00eda de los hotspots ocurrieron en la <strong>Amazon\u00eda brasile\u00f1a<\/strong>, donde la deforestaci\u00f3n masiva se extendi\u00f3 por las principales redes de carreteras. Muchas de estas \u00e1reas tambi\u00e9n se quemaron tras la deforestaci\u00f3n.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">p<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Contin\u00faa habiendo un arco de deforestaci\u00f3n en el noroeste de la <strong>Amazon\u00eda colombiana<\/strong>, impactando numerosas \u00e1reas protegidas y territorios ind\u00edgenas.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">p<\/span><\/li>\n<li>En la <strong>Amazon\u00eda peruana<\/strong>, la deforestaci\u00f3n contin\u00faa impactando la regi\u00f3n central, sobre todo desde una nueva colonia menonita con una plantaci\u00f3n de arroz a gran escala.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">p<\/span><\/li>\n<li>En <strong>Bolivia<\/strong>, los incendios est\u00e1n impactando una vez m\u00e1s varios ecosistemas importantes, incluyendo los ecosistemas de sabana del Beni, los bosques secos del Chiquitano y los matorrales del Chaco, fuera de la regi\u00f3n Amaz\u00f3nica.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>A continuaci\u00f3n<\/u>, mostramos im\u00e1genes detalladas de los tres pa\u00edses con mayor deforestaci\u00f3n (Brasil, Colombia y Per\u00fa) y tambi\u00e9n una serie de im\u00e1genes satelitales de alta resoluci\u00f3n que ilustran varios de los principales eventos de deforestaci\u00f3n del 2021.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Deforestaci\u00f3n Expandida en la Amazon\u00eda Brasile\u00f1a<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>El <strong>Mapa Base de Brasil<\/strong> muestra una notable concentraci\u00f3n de hotspots de deforestaci\u00f3n a lo largo de las carreteras principales (especialmente en las carreteras 163, 230, 319, y 364). Datos: UMD\/GLAD, ACA\/MAAP.<\/div><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Arco de Deforestaci\u00f3n en la Amazon\u00eda Colombiana<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Como se describi\u00f3 en reportes anteriores (ver <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/2020\/colombia-2020\/\">MAAP#120<\/a>), el <strong>Mapa Base de Colombia<\/strong> muestra que el \u201carco de deforestaci\u00f3n\u201d se mantiene al noroeste de la Amazon\u00eda colombiana (departamentos de Caquet\u00e1, Meta y Guaviare).<\/p>\n<p>Este arco impacta en numerosas \u00e1reas protegidas (particularmente los Parques Nacionales Tinigua y Chiribiquete) y Reservas Ind\u00edgenas (<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">especialmente en<\/span> Yari-Yaguara II y Nukak Maku).<\/p>\n<p>Las <strong>Im\u00e1genes D &amp; E <\/strong>muestran ejemplos con im\u00e1genes de alta resoluci\u00f3n que, \u00a0en gran medida, parece que la deforestaci\u00f3n est\u00e1 asociada con la expansi\u00f3n de pasto para ganado.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_10508\" class=\"thumbnail aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/maaproject.org-maap-147-amazon-deforestation-hotspots-2021-first-look-Panel-D-Chiribiquete-West1-200dpi-v2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-10508 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/maaproject.org-maap-147-amazon-deforestation-hotspots-2021-first-look-Panel-D-Chiribiquete-West1-200dpi-v2-930x411.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"930\" height=\"411\" \/><\/a><div class=\"caption\">Imagen D. Datos: UMD\/GLAD, ACA\/MAAP.<\/div><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Deforestaci\u00f3n en la Amazon\u00eda Peruana Centro<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>El <strong>Mapa Base de Per\u00fa<\/strong> muestra la concentraci\u00f3n de deforestaci\u00f3n en la Amazon\u00eda peruana centro (Ucayali, Hu\u00e1nuco y \u00e1reas al sur de Loreto).<\/p>\n<p>Las <strong>Im\u00e1genes F &amp; G<\/strong> muestran dos notables ejemplos de esta deforestaci\u00f3n: La r\u00e1pida deforestaci\u00f3n en el 2021 por una nueva colonia menonita (299 hect\u00e1reas) y una plantaci\u00f3n de arroz a gran escala (382 hect\u00e1reas), respectivamente.<\/p>\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n, se notan algunos hotspots adicionales en el sur (regi\u00f3n Madre de Dios), desde la miner\u00eda aur\u00edfera y la agricultura a media escala.<\/p>\n<p>El hotspot en el norte (regi\u00f3n Loreto) es una p\u00e9rdida natural de bosque <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ocasionada <\/span>por una tormenta de viento.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_10505\" class=\"thumbnail aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/maaproject.org-maap-147-amazon-deforestation-hotspots-2021-first-look-Panel-F-Peru-Mennonites-200dpi.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-10505 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/maaproject.org-maap-147-amazon-deforestation-hotspots-2021-first-look-Panel-F-Peru-Mennonites-200dpi-930x411.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"930\" height=\"411\" \/><\/a><div class=\"caption\">Imagen F. These alerts are derived from the Sentinel-2 satellite operated by the European Space Agency.<\/p>\n<p>We emphasize that this data represents a preliminary estimate and more definitive annual data will come later next year.<\/p>\n<p>We also note that this data does include forest loss caused by natural forces and burned areas.<\/p>\n<p>Our geographic range for the Amazon is a hybrid between both the biogeographic boundary (as defined by RAISG) and watershed\u00a0 boundary, designed for maximum inclusion.<\/p>\n<p>To identify the deforestation hotspots, we conducted a kernel density estimate. This type of analysis calculates the magnitude per unit area of a particular phenomenon, in this case forest cover loss. We conducted this analysis using the Kernel Density tool from Spatial Analyst Tool Box of ArcGIS. We used the following parameters:<\/p>\n<p>Search Radius: 15000 layer units (meters)<br \/>\nKernel Density Function: Quartic kernel function<br \/>\nCell Size in the map: 200 x 200 meters (4 hectares)<br \/>\nEverything else was left to the default setting.<\/p>\n<p>For the Base Map, we used the following concentration percentages: Medium: 7-10%; High: 11-20%; Very High: &gt;20%.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Agradecimientos <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Agradecemos a E.
