Datos: VIIRS\/NASA, SERNANP<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Durante el 2016, el Per\u00fa experiment\u00f3 una intensa temporada de incendios, acrecentada por las sequ\u00edas en varias regiones del pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n<p>El mapa de base (Imagen 53) muestra los <strong>hotspots de alertas de fuego<\/strong> durante dicho a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<p>Estas alertas son generadas de los datos de un sensor satelital (VIIRS, 375 metros de resoluci\u00f3n) que detecta focos de calor (\u00e1reas donde la temperatura tiene un comportamiento an\u00f3malo, por encima de lo normal).<\/p>\n<p>A pesar de que no existe una investigaci\u00f3n integral sobre el origen de estos incendios, se presume que la mayor\u00eda\u00a0de estos est\u00e1n asociados a practicas agr\u00edcolas (renovaci\u00f3n de \u00e1reas agr\u00edcolas y regeneraci\u00f3n de pastos para ganado) que en algunos casos alcanzaron a afectar ecosistemas naturales.<\/p>\n<p>En la imagen, enfatizamos <strong>5 hotspots significativos<\/strong>\u00a0de la cuenca Amaz\u00f3nica, etiquetados como A-E (A. Norte del Per\u00fa; B. Bajo Huallaga; C. Hu\u00e1nuco\/Ucayali; D. R\u00edo Ene; E. Sur del Manu; F. Interoce\u00e1nica Sur).<\/p>\n<p>A continuaci\u00f3n, se describe estas zonas en mayor detalle.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>A. Norte del Per\u00fa<\/strong><\/h3>\n<div id=\"attachment_5532\" class=\"thumbnail alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/MAAP_Fuego_2016_54a_v1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-5532\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/MAAP_Fuego_2016_54a_v1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"470\" height=\"519\" \/><\/a><div class=\"caption\">Imagen 53a. Datos: VIIRS\/NASA, SERNANP, MODIS<\/div><\/div>\n<p>El hotspot A indica la zona en el norte del Per\u00fa que experiment\u00f3 una intensa ola de incendios a finales del 2016. La mayor parte de los fuegos ocurri\u00f3 en las cabeceras de la Amazon\u00eda, en las regiones Cajamarca y Lambayeque.<\/p>\n<p>Como se report\u00f3 anteriormente, estimamos que\u00a02,668<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>hect\u00e1reas\u00a0(3,655 campos de f\u00fatbol) se quemaron al interior de 11 \u00c1reas Protegidas, 7 de las cuales son \u00c1reas Naturales Protegidas de administraci\u00f3n nacional (ver <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/2016\/incendios-norte\/\">MAAP #51<\/a> y <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/2017\/incendios-norte-2\/\">MAAP #52<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>La Imagen 53a muestra donde se registraron las concentraciones de focos de calor.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>B.\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Bajo Huallaga <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>El Hotspot B corresponde a la zona a lo largo de la cuenca baja del r\u00edo Huallaga, entre las regiones Loreto y San Mart\u00edn. Aunque se identific\u00f3 la ocurrencia de fuegos en zonas agr\u00edcolas, tambi\u00e9n impactaron zonas de bosque y vegetaci\u00f3n secundaria para la apertura de nuevas actividades agr\u00edcolas (Imagen 53b).<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5533\" class=\"thumbnail aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/MAAP_Fuego_2016_54b1_b_m_v2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5533\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/MAAP_Fuego_2016_54b1_b_m_v2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1429\" height=\"704\" \/><\/a><div class=\"caption\">Imagen 53b. VIIRS\/NASA, Planet<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>C.<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Hu\u00e1nuco\/Ucayali<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>El hotspot C se superpone con unos de principales hotspots de deforestaci\u00f3n. Como se report\u00f3 anteriormente, uno de los principales drivers de deforestaci\u00f3n en esta zona fue el pasto para ganado (ver <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/2016\/huanuco\/\">MAAP #37<\/a>). Por lo tanto, es posible una relaci\u00f3n entre el uso de fuego en las actividades agropecuarias y la alta deforestaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>D. R\u00edo Ene\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>El Hotspot D indica una zona que gener\u00f3 atenci\u00f3n nacional e internacional en el 2016, cuando los incendios a lo largo el r\u00edo Ene amenazaron dos \u00c1reas Naturales Protegidas (Reserva Comunal Ash\u00e1ninka y Parque Nacional Otishi) en la regi\u00f3n Jun\u00edn. En la imagen 53d puede apreciarse la comparaci\u00f3n de antes (panel izquierdo) y durante (panel derecho) los incendios. Sur del Manu<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>El Hotspot E corresponde a una zona de pastizales, valle interandino, y ceja de selva de la zona de amortiguamiento del Parque Nacional Manu y del \u00e1rea de influencia del \u00c1rea\u00a0 Conservacion Privada Wayquecha. Seg\u00fan los estimados del responsable de defensa Civil de la provincia de Paucartambo, los da\u00f1os registran cerca de 3,000 hect\u00e1reas en estos ecosistemas. Interoce\u00e1nica Sur<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>El Hotspot F indica la zona del sur de Per\u00fa que est\u00e1 experimentando un incremento de deforestaci\u00f3n a lo largo de la carretera Interoce\u00e1nica Sur, en la regi\u00f3n Madre de Dios.
