Sat\u00e9lite peque\u00f1o de Planet.<\/div><\/div>\n<p>La empresa <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planet.com\/\">Planet<\/a> est\u00e1 liderando el uso de los \u201c<strong>sat\u00e9lites peque\u00f1os\u201d <\/strong>de alta resoluci\u00f3n (Imagen 59a).\u00a0El tama\u00f1o y costo de los \u00a0sat\u00e9lites de Planet son mucho m\u00e1s reducidos comparados a los sat\u00e9lites tradicionales, lo cual hace posible fabricar y enviar al espacio una flota m\u00e1s numerosa. Actualmente, Planet opera 149 sat\u00e9lites, conocidos como Doves, la flota m\u00e1s grande de la historia de la observaci\u00f3n de la Tierra. Los Doves capturan im\u00e1genes a color de 3-5 metros de resoluci\u00f3n, y pronto cubrir\u00e1n, a diario, toda la superficie terrestre de la Tierra.<\/p>\n<p>Durante el \u00faltimo a\u00f1o, el MAAP* ha demostrado el poder de las im\u00e1genes de Planet para monitorear la deforestaci\u00f3n y degradaci\u00f3n de la selva Amaz\u00f3nica, en tiempo casi real. Un flujo consistente de estas nuevas im\u00e1genes de alta resoluci\u00f3n es necesario para este tipo de trabajo; por ello la flota de Planet es ideal. A continuaci\u00f3n, proporcionamos una muestra de hallazgos claves del MAAP, basados en las im\u00e1genes de Planet, para diferentes casos, incluyendo <strong>miner\u00eda aur\u00edfera, deforestaci\u00f3n ilegal, caminos forestales, fuegos, vientos huracanados, deslizamientos, e inundaciones.**<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>*El MAAP ha tenido acceso a las im\u00e1genes de Planet a trav\u00e9s del programa <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planet.com\/products\/education-and-research\/\">Ambassador.<br \/>\n<\/a>**En las siguientes im\u00e1genes, los puntos rojos (<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>\u2022<\/strong><\/span>) indican la misma ubicaci\u00f3n, en el tiempo, entre los paneles.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Miner\u00eda Aur\u00edfera Ilegal<\/strong><\/h3>\n<div id=\"attachment_5810\" class=\"thumbnail aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/giphy-9.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5810 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/giphy-9.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"343\" \/><\/a><div class=\"caption\">Imagen 59b. Data: Planet, SERNANP<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Usamos las im\u00e1genes de Planet para monitorear cercanamente la reciente invasi\u00f3n de miner\u00eda aur\u00edfera ilegal en la Reserva Nacional Tambopata en Madre de Dios. La <strong>Imagen 59b<\/strong> es un GIF que muestra toda la invasi\u00f3n: desde sus inicios en enero del 2016, seguido por los avances de deforestaci\u00f3n en julio y noviembre del 2016, y la imagen m\u00e1s reciente, en marzo del 2017. El total de la deforestaci\u00f3n por la invasi\u00f3n es de m\u00e1s de 500 hect\u00e1reas. Estas im\u00e1genes fueron un recurso importante para las autoridades, sociedad civil, y los medios que responden a esta situaci\u00f3n.<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Deforestaci\u00f3n Ilegal por Agricultura<\/strong><\/h3>\n<div id=\"attachment_5812\" class=\"thumbnail aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/MAAP_Planet_Agriculture_m_v1_es-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5812 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/MAAP_Planet_Agriculture_m_v1_es-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1715\" height=\"709\" \/><\/a><div class=\"caption\">Imagen 59c. Estos ejemplos son importantes porque, de manera acumulativa, la deforestaci\u00f3n de peque\u00f1a escala es la causa principal de deforestaci\u00f3n en la Amazon\u00eda peruana\u00a0(ver <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/2017\/maap-sintesis2\/\">MAAP Synthesis #2<\/a>). La <strong>Imagen 59e<\/strong> muestra la p\u00e9rdida de bosque debido a un fuego descontrolado desde un \u00e1rea agr\u00edcola en el norte de la Amazon\u00eda peruana, entre mayo (panel izquierdo) y octubre (panel derecho) del 2016.
