Data: Planet, ACA\/MAAP.<\/div><\/div>\n<p>En la <strong>parte 1<\/strong> de esta serie (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/es\/maap-215-una-mirada-sin-precedentes-al-carbono-en-la-amazonia-parte-1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MAAP #215<\/a>), presentamos un nuevo conjunto de datos fundamentales (el producto Forest Carbon Diligence de Planet) que proporciona estimaciones detalladas del carbono sobre el suelo con una resoluci\u00f3n sin precedentes de 30 metros entre el 2013 y 2022. Estos datos combinan de forma \u00fanica el aprendizaje automatizado, las im\u00e1genes satelitales, los l\u00e1seres a\u00e9reos y un conjunto de datos de biomasa global de GEDI, una misi\u00f3n de la NASA.<\/p>\n<p>En la <strong>parte 2<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/es\/maap-217-carbono-en-la-amazonia-parte-2-zonas-de-carbono-pico\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MAAP #217<\/a>), destacamos qu\u00e9 partes de la Amazon\u00eda albergan actualmente los niveles m\u00e1ximos de carbono y la importancia de proteger estos bosques de alta integridad.<\/p>\n<p>Aqu\u00ed, en la <strong>parte 3<\/strong>, nos enfocamos en la <strong>p\u00e9rdida y ganancia de carbono<\/strong> sobre el suelo, presentando un novedoso <strong>Mapa Base<\/strong> que muestra las estimaciones en toda la Amazon\u00eda a lo largo de los 10 a\u00f1os de datos (2013-22).<\/p>\n<p>La Amazon\u00eda <strong>pierde<\/strong> carbono a la atm\u00f3sfera debido a la deforestaci\u00f3n, la tala selectiva, los incendios provocados por el hombre o las perturbaciones naturales, mientras que <strong>gana<\/strong> carbono de la regeneraci\u00f3n y los bosques antiguos que secuestran carbono de la atm\u00f3sfera.<\/p>\n<p>En general, observamos que la Amazon\u00eda sigue funcionando como <strong>sumidero de carbono<\/strong> (significa que la ganancia de carbono es mayor que la p\u00e9rdida), ganando 64,7 millones de toneladas m\u00e9tricas de carbono sobre el suelo entre el 2013 y 2022 (ver <strong>Gr\u00e1fico 1<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>Este hallazgo subraya la importancia de los bosques primarios y secundarios para contrarrestar la deforestaci\u00f3n generalizada. Adem\u00e1s, destaca el potencial cr\u00edtico de los bosques primarios para seguir acumulando carbono si no se los perturba.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, esta ganancia es peque\u00f1a en relaci\u00f3n con el total de 56.800 millones de toneladas m\u00e9tricas de carbono sobre el suelo contenido en la Amazon\u00eda (es decir, una ganancia de tan solo un +0,1%), lo que refuerza la preocupaci\u00f3n de que la Amazon\u00eda <strong>podr\u00eda convertirse en una fuente de carbono<\/strong> (con una p\u00e9rdida de carbono mayor que su ganancia) debido al aumento de la deforestaci\u00f3n, la degradaci\u00f3n y los incendios.<\/p>\n<p>Los <strong>pa\u00edses que m\u00e1s carbono ganan<\/strong> son 1) Brasil, 2) Colombia, 3) Surinam, 4) Guyana y 5) Guayana Francesa. Por el contrario, los <strong>pa\u00edses con mayor p\u00e9rdida de carbono<\/strong> son 1) Bolivia, 2) Venezuela, 3) Per\u00fa y 4) Ecuador.<\/p>\n<p>A continuaci\u00f3n, se presenta una serie de mapas novedosos que destacan nuestros hallazgos clave y hacen acercamiento en los <strong>casos emblem\u00e1ticos<\/strong> de alta p\u00e9rdida y ganancia de carbono en toda la Amazon\u00eda en los \u00faltimos 10 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Mapa base \u2013 P\u00e9rdida y ganancia de carbono en la Amazon\u00eda (2013-2022)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>El <strong>Mapa Base<\/strong> muestra estimaciones de p\u00e9rdida y ganancia de carbono sobre el suelo en toda la Amazon\u00eda entre 2013 y 2022.<\/p>\n<p>La <strong>p\u00e9rdida de carbono<\/strong> se indica de amarillo a <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">rojo<\/span><\/strong>, lo que indica una <strong>p\u00e9rdida de carbono <\/strong>de baja a <strong>alta<\/strong>.
