Proposta de corredores florestais rip\u00e1rios de fluxo livre e intactos na Amaz\u00f4nia equatoriana do norte.<\/span><\/i><\/div><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aqui, apresentamos um <\/span><b>modelo de estrat\u00e9gia de conserva\u00e7\u00e3o<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> , desenvolvido pelo Instituto dos Rios do Equador, que visa proteger <\/span><b>corredores fluviais que fluem livremente e mant\u00eam a cobertura florestal ribeirinha<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> na zona de transi\u00e7\u00e3o cr\u00edtica entre a Cordilheira dos Andes e as terras baixas da Amaz\u00f4nia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Existem poucos <\/span><b>corredores Andes-Amaz\u00f4nia<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> intactos , ent\u00e3o esta iniciativa \u00e9 urgentemente necess\u00e1ria no Equador e em toda a regi\u00e3o.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A proposta visa corredores estrat\u00e9gicos que apresentam <\/span><b>tr\u00eas caracter\u00edsticas principais<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> :<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1) <\/span><b>Fluxo livre<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> , ou seja, sem grandes barragens interrompendo completamente o fluxo de \u00e1gua desde sua nascente nos Andes at\u00e9 as terras baixas da Amaz\u00f4nia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2) <\/span><b>Mata ciliar intacta<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> que se estende por pelo menos 500 metros de cada lado do rio.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3) <\/span><b>Nenhuma atividade de minera\u00e7\u00e3o<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> no rio ou na zona ribeirinha adjacente.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Estima-se que essa combina\u00e7\u00e3o seja o crit\u00e9rio m\u00ednimo necess\u00e1rio para preservar a integridade da biodiversidade, dos ecossistemas aqu\u00e1ticos e das paisagens c\u00eanicas dos principais corredores fluviais dos Andes tropicais.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">O <\/span><b>Mapa Base<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ilustra os <\/span><b>dois primeiros corredores propostos no Equador<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> .<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">O primeiro \u00e9 o <\/span><b>Corredor Ecol\u00f3gico Jondachi-Holl\u00edn-Misahuall\u00ed-Napo<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> . Este corredor multifacetado flui das nascentes dos rios Jondachi e Hollin (que se originam em uma s\u00e9rie de \u00e1reas protegidas, incluindo os Parques Nacionais Sumaco e Antisana), finalmente at\u00e9 um trecho intacto do Rio Napo. Este corredor totaliza 193 km de rio e 18.675 hectares (46.145 acres) de floresta ribeirinha.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">O segundo \u00e9 o <\/span><b>Corredor Ecol\u00f3gico do Rio Piatua<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> , que canaliza \u00e1gua origin\u00e1ria do Parque Nacional Llanganates. Este corredor \u00e9 mais curto, totalizando 46 km de rio e 4.378 hectares (10.818 acres) de floresta ribeirinha.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Abaixo est\u00e1 uma imagem de sat\u00e9lite recente do Corredor Ecol\u00f3gico Jondachi-Holl\u00edn-Misahuall\u00ed-Napo.
