Click to Enlarge.<\/div><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nosso novo aplicativo inovador para <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/luciovilla.users.earthengine.app\/view\/monitoring-amazon-fires\"><b>monitoramento de inc\u00eandios em tempo real na Amaz\u00f4nia<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> detectou <\/span><b>mais de 200 grandes inc\u00eandios<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> em 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">O aplicativo <\/span><b>\u00e9 especializado<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> em filtrar milhares de alertas tradicionais de inc\u00eandio baseados em calor para priorizar apenas aqueles que queimam grandes quantidades de biomassa (definidos aqui como um grande inc\u00eandio).*<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nossas <\/span><b>principais descobertas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> incluem:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Detectamos <\/span><b>227 grandes inc\u00eandios na Amaz\u00f4nia<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Brasil 220, Bol\u00edvia 6; Peru 1), at\u00e9 10 de agosto<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A grande maioria dos grandes inc\u00eandios ocorreu na <\/span><b>Amaz\u00f4nia brasileira<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> , onde um n\u00famero surpreendentemente alto ( <\/span><b>85%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ) queimou <\/span><b>\u00e1reas recentemente desmatadas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> . Assim, os inc\u00eandios s\u00e3o na verdade um indicador de fuma\u00e7a do desmatamento desenfreado agora no Brasil.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No Brasil, detectamos <\/span><b>dois inc\u00eandios florestais<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> , mas esse risco aumenta \u00e0 medida que nos aprofundamos na esta\u00e7\u00e3o seca. O restante dos inc\u00eandios ocorreu em campos mais antigos.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No Brasil, a grande maioria ( <\/span><b>94%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ) dos grandes inc\u00eandios foram <\/span><b>ilegais<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> , em viola\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0s morat\u00f3rias estaduais e nacionais de inc\u00eandios estabelecidas em julho. Dados: MAAP.<\/span><\/i><\/div><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A grande maioria dos inc\u00eandios ocorreu na <\/span><b>Amaz\u00f4nia brasileira<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> : <\/span><b>Par\u00e1<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (37%) e <\/span><b>Amazonas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (39%), seguidos por Mato Grosso (17%) e Rond\u00f4nia (8%).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00c9 importante destacar que a grande maioria dos grandes inc\u00eandios na Amaz\u00f4nia brasileira ( <\/span><b>85%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ) queimou <\/span><b>\u00e1reas recentemente desmatadas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (desmatadas entre 2018 e 2020) cobrindo 280.000 acres (113.000 hectares). Assim, argumentamos que a quest\u00e3o central \u00e9, na verdade, o desmatamento e os inc\u00eandios s\u00e3o, na verdade, um indicador de fuma\u00e7a dessa perda florestal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Detectamos os dois primeiros <\/span><b>inc\u00eandios florestais<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> , queimando 388 acres (1.447 hectares) no Mato Grosso e no Par\u00e1.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">O restante dos grandes inc\u00eandios ocorreu em terras agr\u00edcolas ou de gado mais antigas (desmatadas antes de 2018).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As \u00e1reas protegidas mais impactadas s\u00e3o <\/span><b>as Florestas Nacionais de Jamanxim e Altamira,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> no Par\u00e1. Ressaltamos, no entanto, que esses inc\u00eandios estavam queimando \u00e1reas recentemente desmatadas (n\u00e3o inc\u00eandios florestais) e, portanto, novamente, a quest\u00e3o principal \u00e9 o desmatamento.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No Brasil, a grande maioria dos grandes inc\u00eandios ( <\/span><b>94%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ) parecem ser\u00a0 <\/span><b>ilegais <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0, pois violam as morat\u00f3rias de inc\u00eandios impostas pelo governo estadual e nacional estabelecidas em julho. Na verdade, apesar das morat\u00f3rias, o n\u00famero de grandes inc\u00eandios est\u00e1 <\/span><b>acelerando<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> : 143 at\u00e9 agora em agosto, ap\u00f3s 64 em julho, 12 em junho e o primeiro em maio.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Na <\/span><b>Amaz\u00f4nia boliviana<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> , come\u00e7amos recentemente a detectar inc\u00eandios nas savanas do departamento de Beni. Tamb\u00e9m detectamos um inc\u00eandio em uma \u00e1rea recentemente desmatada no departamento de Santa Cruz.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Na <\/span><b>Amaz\u00f4nia peruana<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> , come\u00e7amos recentemente a detectar inc\u00eandios em pastagens de altitudes mais elevadas. O maior deles ocorreu, na verdade, dentro de uma \u00e1rea protegida (Parque Nacional Otishi). Tamb\u00e9m houve inc\u00eandios menores em pastagens perto da zona de amortecimento do Parque Nacional Manu superior.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div>\n<h3><b>Principais exemplos de inc\u00eandios de 2020<\/b><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No geral, nossa principal descoberta \u00e9 que a maioria dos grandes inc\u00eandios na Amaz\u00f4nia brasileira est\u00e1 queimando \u00e1reas recentemente desmatadas, e n\u00e3o inc\u00eandios florestais violentos. Um novo sat\u00e9lite (Sentinel-5P da Ag\u00eancia Espacial Europeia) detecta essas <\/span><b>emiss\u00f5es de aeross\u00f3is<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> . Assim, a principal caracter\u00edstica do aplicativo \u00e9 detectar emiss\u00f5es elevadas de aeross\u00f3is que, por sua vez, indicam a queima de grandes quantidades de biomassa. Por exemplo, o aplicativo distingue pequenos inc\u00eandios limpando campos antigos (e queimando pouca biomassa) de inc\u00eandios maiores queimando \u00e1reas recentemente desmatadas ou florestas em p\u00e9 (e queimando muita biomassa).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Definimos \u201cgrande inc\u00eandio\u201d como aquele que mostra n\u00edveis elevados de emiss\u00e3o de aerossol no aplicativo, indicando assim a queima de n\u00edveis elevados de biomassa. Isso normalmente se traduz em um \u00edndice de aerossol de &gt;1 (ou verde-ciano a vermelho no aplicativo). Para identificar a fonte exata das emiss\u00f5es elevadas, reduzimos a intensidade dos dados de aerossol para ver os alertas de inc\u00eandio baseados no calor terrestre subjacentes. Normalmente, para grandes inc\u00eandios, h\u00e1 um grande conjunto de alertas. Os grandes inc\u00eandios s\u00e3o ent\u00e3o confirmados e as \u00e1reas queimadas s\u00e3o estimadas, usando imagens de sat\u00e9lite de alta resolu\u00e7\u00e3o do <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.planet.com\/explorer\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Planet Explorer<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> .<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Veja <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maapprogram.org\/2020\/amazon-fire-app\/\"><b>MAAP #118<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> para detalhes adicionais.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nenhum inc\u00eandio permitido no estado brasileiro de Mato Grosso ap\u00f3s 1\u00ba de julho de 2020. Nenhum inc\u00eandio permitido em toda a Amaz\u00f4nia brasileira ap\u00f3s 15 de julho de 2020.
