Clique para ampliar a imagem.<\/span><\/i><\/div><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gra\u00e7as ao apoio da USAID, por meio do <\/span><b>Projeto Prevent,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> dedicado \u00e0 preven\u00e7\u00e3o e combate a crimes ambientais na Amaz\u00f4nia, realizamos uma an\u00e1lise detalhada do recente <\/span><b>desmatamento ilegal de minera\u00e7\u00e3o de ouro<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> no sul da Amaz\u00f4nia peruana.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">O objetivo \u00e9 entender as <\/span><b>tend\u00eancias do in\u00edcio de 2017 at\u00e9 junho de 2020<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (que inclui a primeira parte da quarentena obrigat\u00f3ria decretada pelo governo peruano em 16 de mar\u00e7o de 2020 devido \u00e0 <\/span><b>pandemia do coronav\u00edrus<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">N\u00f3s nos concentramos nas <\/span><b>zonas de amortecimento<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> de duas \u00e1reas protegidas na regi\u00e3o de Madre de Dios: Reserva Nacional de Tambopata e Parque Nacional Bahuaja Sonene (ver <\/span><b>Mapa Base<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ).*<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Esta \u00e1rea inclui <\/span><b>La Pampa<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> , a atual zona de minera\u00e7\u00e3o ilegal de maior intensidade do pa\u00eds. Em fevereiro de 2019, o governo peruano lan\u00e7ou <\/span><b>a Opera\u00e7\u00e3o Merc\u00fario<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0 para confrontar a ilegalidade em La Pampa e \u00e1reas vizinhas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">O Mapa Base mostra que o desmatamento da minera\u00e7\u00e3o de ouro em La Pampa <\/span><b>diminuiu mais de 90%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ap\u00f3s a Opera\u00e7\u00e3o Merc\u00fario.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No entanto, <\/span><b>a minera\u00e7\u00e3o ilegal de ouro continua<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ap\u00f3s a Opera\u00e7\u00e3o Mercury (incluindo durante o estado de emerg\u00eancia do coronav\u00edrus), mas em <\/span><b>taxas mais baixas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> . Assim, instant\u00e2neos atuais podem ser enganosos e o contexto recente \u00e9 importante.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No Mapa Base, as <\/span><b>setas vermelhas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> indicam as \u00e1reas com a atividade ilegal mais recente (clique na imagem para ampliar). Ap\u00f3s a interven\u00e7\u00e3o, o desmatamento foi reduzido para 14 hectares (36 acres) por m\u00eas (mar\u00e7o de 2019 \u2013 maio de 2020), uma <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">redu\u00e7\u00e3o <\/span><b>de 92%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> .<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rio acima, no <\/span><b>Alto Malinowski<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> , documentamos o desmatamento de minera\u00e7\u00e3o de 61 hectares (150 acres) por m\u00eas antes da Opera\u00e7\u00e3o Mercury. Ap\u00f3s a interven\u00e7\u00e3o, o desmatamento foi reduzido para 28 hectares (69 acres) por m\u00eas, uma <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">redu\u00e7\u00e3o <\/span><b>de 53%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> .<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rio abaixo, na \u00e1rea <\/span><b>de Apaylon<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> , documentamos o desmatamento de minera\u00e7\u00e3o de 2,9 hectares (7 acres) por m\u00eas, antes da Opera\u00e7\u00e3o Mercury. Ap\u00f3s a interven\u00e7\u00e3o, o desmatamento aumentou para 4 hectares (10 acres) por m\u00eas, um <\/span><b>aumento de 41%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> . Apaylon \u00e9 a principal \u00e1rea na zona de amortecimento onde o desmatamento aumentou<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dentro da <\/span><b>Reserva Nacional de Tambopata<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> , documentamos o desmatamento de minera\u00e7\u00e3o de 6,5 hectares (16 acres) por m\u00eas, antes da Opera\u00e7\u00e3o Mercury. Ap\u00f3s a interven\u00e7\u00e3o, o desmatamento foi reduzido para 0,5 hectares (1,2 acres) por m\u00eas, uma <\/span><b>redu\u00e7\u00e3o de 93 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">%<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> .<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No geral, <\/span><b>a minera\u00e7\u00e3o ilegal de ouro continua<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> nas zonas de amortecimento de Madre de Dios, mas em <\/span><b>taxas mais baixas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> do que nos dois anos anteriores. N\u00f3s documentamos o desmatamento de minera\u00e7\u00e3o de ouro de <\/span><b>797 hectares<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (1.670 acres) ap\u00f3s a Opera\u00e7\u00e3o Mercury<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Em rela\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 especula\u00e7\u00e3o de que a atividade ilegal aumentaria durante a <\/span><b>pandemia do coronav\u00edrus<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> , n\u00e3o documentamos nenhum aumento ou aumento significativo nas zonas de prote\u00e7\u00e3o de Madre de Dios.* A minera\u00e7\u00e3o ilegal continua, no entanto, documentamos o desmatamento de <\/span><b>80 hectares<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (198 acres) durante a quarentena<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div>\n<h3><b>Redu\u00e7\u00e3o de 90% em La Pampa<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As imagens a seguir mostram a grande redu\u00e7\u00e3o no desmatamento da minera\u00e7\u00e3o de ouro em La Pampa ap\u00f3s a Opera\u00e7\u00e3o Mercury. <\/span><b>A imagem 1<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> mostra o r\u00e1pido desmatamento antes da Opera\u00e7\u00e3o Mercury, entre janeiro de 2017 (painel esquerdo) e fevereiro de 2019 (painel direito). <\/span><b>A imagem 2<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> mostra como o desmatamento diminuiu ap\u00f3s a Opera\u00e7\u00e3o Mercury, entre fevereiro de 2019 (painel esquerdo) e maio de 2020 (painel direito). Ap\u00f3s a interven\u00e7\u00e3o, o desmatamento foi reduzido para 6,1 hectares (15 acres) por m\u00eas, uma <\/span><b>redu\u00e7\u00e3o de 54 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">%<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> .<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Em <\/span><b>Pariamanu<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> , documentamos o desmatamento de minera\u00e7\u00e3o de 2,5 hectares (6 acres) por m\u00eas antes da Opera\u00e7\u00e3o Mercury. Ap\u00f3s a interven\u00e7\u00e3o, aumentou para 4,2 hectares (10 acres) por m\u00eas, um <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">aumento <\/span><b>de 70%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> .<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Em resumo, a minera\u00e7\u00e3o ilegal de ouro continua nessas duas \u00e1reas fora de La Pampa. N\u00f3s documentamos o desmatamento de minera\u00e7\u00e3o de <\/span><b>175 hectares<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (432 acres) ap\u00f3s a Opera\u00e7\u00e3o Mercury (incluindo 22 hectares durante a pandemia). Clique para ampliar a imagem.<\/span><\/i><\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"fitem-sep\"><\/div>\n<h3><b>Declara\u00e7\u00e3o da Ag\u00eancia Peruana de \u00c1reas Protegidas (SERNANP)<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">O Servi\u00e7o Nacional de \u00c1reas Naturais Protegidas pelo Estado (SERNANP) informou-nos o seguinte:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A atividade de controle e vigil\u00e2ncia na Reserva Nacional Tambopata \u00e9 permanente e as autoridades (SERNANP, Pol\u00edcia Nacional do Peru, Procuradores Especializados em Assuntos Ambientais e Marinha do Peru) continuam a intervir em todas as atividades de minera\u00e7\u00e3o ilegal, mantendo 100%.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As zonas tamp\u00e3o s\u00e3o espa\u00e7os que est\u00e3o sujeitos \u00e0 interven\u00e7\u00e3o das autoridades da Opera\u00e7\u00e3o Merc\u00fario (n\u00e3o do SERNANP). Interven\u00e7\u00f5es e interdi\u00e7\u00f5es cont\u00ednuas foram realizadas tanto nas \u00e1reas indicadas no relat\u00f3rio, como em Apaylon e Camanti.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vale ressaltar que a Opera\u00e7\u00e3o Merc\u00fario, durante 2019 e especialmente em 2020 (incluindo o per\u00edodo de quarentena) expandiu suas opera\u00e7\u00f5es para al\u00e9m de La Pampa, o que explica porque em Camanti os n\u00fameros tamb\u00e9m foram reduzidos.
