Eles s\u00e3o uma fra\u00e7\u00e3o do tamanho e do custo dos sat\u00e9lites tradicionais, tornando poss\u00edvel produzir e lan\u00e7ar muitos como uma grande frota. De fato, a Planet agora opera 149 pequenos sat\u00e9lites, conhecidos como Doves, a maior frota da hist\u00f3ria. Os Doves capturam imagens coloridas com resolu\u00e7\u00e3o de 3 a 5 metros e se alinham (como um colar de p\u00e9rolas) para cobrir todos os lugares da \u00e1rea terrestre da Terra todos os dias.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No ano passado, o MAAP* demonstrou o poder das imagens do Planet para monitorar o desmatamento e a degrada\u00e7\u00e3o quase em tempo real na Amaz\u00f4nia. Um fluxo consistente de novas imagens de alta resolu\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 necess\u00e1rio para esse tipo de trabalho, tornando o modelo de frota do Planet ideal. Dados: Planeta, SERNANP<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Usamos imagens do Planet para rastrear de perto a recente invas\u00e3o ilegal de minera\u00e7\u00e3o de ouro na Reserva Nacional de Tambopata, uma \u00e1rea protegida megadiversa no sul da Amaz\u00f4nia peruana.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>A imagem 59b<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00e9 um GIF mostrando a invas\u00e3o completa: da invas\u00e3o inicial em janeiro de 2016, aos avan\u00e7os subsequentes do desmatamento em julho e novembro de 2016, e a imagem mais recente em mar\u00e7o de 2017. O desmatamento total da invas\u00e3o \u00e9 de mais de 1.235 acres.
